和Linux Kernel几乎同年的Slackware系统，如今也30岁啦。Slackware一直固守着“KISS”原则，30年来一直深受用户喜爱和追捧。

如今Slackware Current的内核是6.1.38，桌面是kde 5.27.6和xfce4.18，支持UEFI启动，引导系统程序是elilo3.16，也可使用grub2.06，搭载了vim9.0.1677，Emacs28.2. 默认文件系统是ext4，支持读写ntfs文件系统。是一个非常干净稳定健壮的操作系统。

Slackware 的创始人是Patrick J. Volkerding，早年毕业于cleveland大学，被称为Linux的英雄。以下是桌面截图和第一次系统公告。

years since I made the post linked below announcing Slackware's first stable
release after months of beta testing. Thanks to all of our dedicated
contributors, loyal users, and those who have helped us to keep the lights on
here. It's really been a remarkable journey that I couldn't have anticipated
